Fractional CO2 laser

by | Mar 28, 2019

This video shows a fractional CO2 laser treatment. This laser works by ablating tiny columns of skin, removing surface imperfections and stimulating collagen production to improve skin texture and pigmentation. The laser also produces heat, which results in a mild skin tightening effect.⠀

The treatment takes about one hour. Results are usually apparent after a single treatment, but patients sometimes opt for multiple treatments spaced 3-6 months apart to optimize the results.⠀

This treatment has a solid 7-10 days of downtime. The downtime is much more than with non-ablative lasers, but the results tend to be more noticeable.⠀

This treatment is only for patients with lighter (Caucasian) skin types. There is a significant risk of pigment abnormalities in darker skin types.⠀
