In addition to cosmetic surgery, Dr. Kapadia has a large practice devoted to functional and
reconstructive oculoplastic surgery. In the non-cosmetic eyelid surgery realm,
he sees patients
who have medical problems with their eyelids which cause them ocular discomfort,
eye irritation or difficulty seeing. For example, when eyelids rotate inward,
eyelashes constantly scratch the eye and cause eye pain and redness. Many older
patients have eyelids which droop enough that they obstruct their vision. A
major portion of my practice focuses on reconstruction of eyelids after the
excision of skin cancers around the eye. The "questions" page on this
website has more information about eyelid
skin cancers.
