Treatment of smile lines (nasolabial folds) with Restylane and Juvederm

Injectable fillers such as Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm can be used to treat smile lines (nasolabial folds), the "parenthesis" shaped lines that reach from the side of the nose to the outer corners of the mouth. Dr. Kapadia prefers using Juvederm Ultra Plus in the nasolabial fold area.

These photos show a patient with severe, deep smile lines. The lines are improved after injection of Juvederm Ultra Plus. Patients with severe smile lines will note that their lines are much softer, but it is often not possible to achieve a complete correction.

Smile lines and other facial lines and wrinkles are often look much more prominent in overhead lighting and tend to be minimized with flash photography.
